PROJECT BRIEF

TEJON STREET CORNER THIEVES

F4D Studio recently had the opportunity to work Colorado’s own Tejon Street Corner Thieves on a music video for their new song “Never Meant to Be.” The band, known for their love of cheap whiskey, touring in a school bus, and endless shenanigans on and off stage, first started busking on Tejon Street in Colorado Springs. Today these pioneers of outlaw blues and trash-grass tour the world sharing their unique style and sound.

The creativity, planning, and coordination that went into our project with Tejon Street Corner Thieves is the reason we love doing what we do!

The Monarch Sessions

After signing with their first label, Liars Club Records, the Tejon Street Corner Thieves asked for F4D Studio’s help in creating a wide breadth of new content for the band. Utilizing both photo and video during the shoot, our team captured content to be used across social media, for the band’s Youtube channel, as well as content for their website. While every project has its own challenges, this project’s tight schedule and complex execution made for quite the challenge, not to mention the fact that the shoot took place during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

With only one day of shooting, our team made their way out to the small town of Victor, CO to capture the band’s first official music video for their new song “Never Meant to Be.” Working within the band’s budget, our team had to craft much of the video’s story on the spot using available locations and props. With eleven costume changes that required the band member to shave various parts of their face and head, this involved a careful plan of attack by our team. Even with the time constraint and complex shoot, our team was able to create a myriad of new content for the group.

After wrapping up the shoot and heading back to our studio in Golden, our team of editors got to work creating all the band’s new content. The final deliverables for the band included 1 Official music video, 7 acoustic music videos, and over 100 professionally edited photos. The music video for “Never Meant to Be” performed especially well with over 65,000 views in the first week!

We truly loved working with the Tejon Street Corner Thieves and cannon wait for our next chance we have to create something new with them!

Stolen Goods

Following up our first project with the Tejon Street Corner Thieves, we connected with them once again to film 10 acoustic sets for their new album Stolen Goods. Aptly named, the album is filled with songs from the past like “Down by the Bay,” that TSCT wanted to give their own twist to.

With Covid still impacting our world at the time, we sent a two-man team to capture all ten videos in a single day. Taking place in a haunted house, our team utilized three different set locations to create the videos. From a mad scientist’s lab, to a crocodile-filled jungle, to a moonlit graveyard, each location gave the videos their own unique look.

We can’t wait to see where our next project with the Tejon Street Corner Thieves takes us, but until then, make sure to go check out all the videos we’ve already created with them!
