Case Study
#SETYOURSTATUS#SETYOURSTATUS
Being tethered to work is a new reality. Because of the instant accessibility to knowledge and technology, it is almost expected that humans should be always available. This adds an intense amount of stress and pressure for remote employees, day laborers and full-time employees seeking a healthy balance of a happy life and sustainable work environment. This campaign encourages people to #SetYourStatus and let everyone know you’re busy doing what you love.

Hours spent outside of the office
As professionals working in commercial film and photography, the F4D Studio team spends a lot of time looking through camera viewfinders, staring at computer screens, and generally working with technology on a regular basis. We’re also fortunate to have aligned with outdoor brands that allow us to spend a significant amount of time working in the outdoors. In developing #SetYourStatus, our goal was to find a way to reconnect with nature outside of work.
The creative process started with determining three activities that we feel help us connect the most with nature. It wasn’t easy, but we ended up landing on mountain biking, climbing and packrafting.
Our first expedition starred F4D cinematographer and editor Tyler Vitello and Haley Rodriguez top roping at North Table Mesa in Golden, Colorado. In the video we follow Tyler and Haley at arrival to the trailhead, along the hike up, setting up the rope and culminating with a successful climb. The hero photograph featured in the campaign was taken by Travis Conklin and depicts Tyler hanging on the side of a rock face looking out over Golden with a laptop in his hands.
The second activity found F4D’s founder and co-owner Gabe Rovick and studio artisit Rob Bell preparing to meet up for a quick packraft down Clear Creek through Golden’s town center. The story opens with Gabe working at a coffee shop and communicating with Rob about wanting to get out on the water. Rob prepares the gear and they ultimately meet up and take at trip down the river together. The hero photograph featured in the campaign was taken by Travis Conklin and depicts Gabe sitting in a packraft on some light rapids in the Clear Creek with a laptop in his lap and smile on his face.
The final activity for the initial #SetYourStatus campaign launch found F4D co-owner Travis Conklin jumping in the actor seat and hitting the Apex Trail with Cole Kramer and Elyse Cosentino. The three athletes arrange to meet up on the trail while hitting a few turns and drops along the way. The hero photograph was taken by Gabe Rovick and depicts Travis resting on his mountain bike with a laptop in his hands.
The resulting campaign assets show our team unpluging and getting out in nature, and we hope it will encourage others to do the same.
