F4D Studio is dedicated to the preservation of our national park system and public lands. Whether for leisure travel or professional adventures, our gratitude for the opportunity to experience these indescribable destinations is ever growing. As we continue to showcase images from our journeys we hope you are inspired to visit and preserve these treasures for future generations. We always welcome inquiries about our travels, image acquisition or partnership opportunities. Enjoy!

Contemplating Vermilion
Looking out over 330,000 acres of vermilion sandstone cliffs, rock spires, and arches in Canyonlands National Park.

My wife Lisa and I recently hit the road to tour the Southwest in search of desert solitude, away from the artificial glow of screens. Canyonlands and Goblin Valley began our adventure, but we were sure to stop wherever our spirits took us for a hike, sightseeing and, of course, photography.

Dead Horse Point State Park stands above the gooseneck of the Colorado River and overlooks The Island of The Sky District of Canyon Lands National Park. Between November and February you can pay just $10 for a drone permit and legally fly at the point. You better believe we did that!

Mesa Arch Captured in the Afterglow
This iconic landmark is often photographed blanketed in light during sunrise. I opted to venture out late in the day to capture its beauty from a different perspective.

Venturing Off the Path to Capitol Reef
We stopped at Goblin Valley State Park to experience this eerily beautiful landscape and capture some nighttime images. Our risk was rewarded handsomely; we had the entire place to ourselves to appreciate these geological giants and natural sculptures. Although we were nearing a full moon and the milky way galaxy wasn’t in full bloom, Goblin Valley was still one of the darkest places I’ve ever been. Being able to see the stars come alive with the moon as the singular light source was a unique opportunity in a breathtaking location.
