F4D Studio is excited to announce the release of our latest film, “Jolt x Laradon Hall”. The documentary short follows graffiti writer, fine artist, muralist, and curator, Jolt, as he develops a set of murals for Laradon’s recently constructed affordable housing complex in Globeville, CO.
Since its founding in 1948, Laradon has been providing services to children and adults with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities, supporting their independence in daily life and maximizing their full potential. With the newly constructed affordable housing complex, The Elisabetta, Laradon aims to expand its impact within the community.
Jolt’s murals not only connect Laradon Hall with the community, but are inspired by his life growing up in Globeville. Each element of Jolt’s murals represent aspects of the community and its culture, from the meztiso face at the center of his mural, representing the strong chicano culture in Globeville, to the aging flowers framing the mural, which represent the good and bad times the area has seen. His most prominent mural, which can be seen from I-25, stands as a symbol of the positive change that Jolt and Laradon Hall continue to build toward in Globeville.
“This will create opportunities for people that require affordable housing, working-class that want to be able to still continue to live in the city… rethinking the old way of developing and redefining it to a quality of life that I didn’t have when I first moved to the hood.” – Jolt
F4D Studio is proud to work with both Jolt and Laradon on this project as it exemplifies our core value of Compassion. Stories like this allow our team to not only make high quality films, but let us create a story that will also help make an impact in the communities we work in.
“Jolt x Laradon Hall” is the fourth project F4D Studio has created in partnership with Jolt. The previous projects include “My Name is Jolt”, the “Coldfax” docu-series, and Westword’s Artopia events.
