Cityscapes and the people who live in them always capture our imagination, mirroring color and energy back in every photo. Amsterdam is famous for its universal cycling culture, and Travis and Tyler spent a week following bikes through the city: locked to bridges over crooked canals, bringing people to work through crowded morning sidewalks, positioned outside of homes where windows glowed warmly in the evenings. We hope you enjoy exploring the moods of the city through the photos as much as we did.

Color bounces off of everything, illuminating the city from within.
Left, right, center- window glances into peoples’ lives.
Traveling offers us brief and incomplete glimpses into the lives of others. Photography too is like that. A moment. A comma in the story of someone’s life, letting you read over their shoulder for a page or two.
Boats, bikes, and automobiles. Any way you want to get there, Amsterdam will be waiting for you.
Home is where your bike is parked and the morning light hits the windowpane just so.
People use bikes in Amsterdam to get to work, to go home, to see friends and family, or just to run errands. The crowded city doesn’t have room for that many cars, so people take to the streets without thinking twice about self-powered transportation. It’s common to see couples dressed up for the opera, businesswomen in suits, school children, or even clowns all biking together.
Muted mornings.
Some couples lock padlocks to bridges to signify their eternal love for each other. This bridge is full of lovingly locked bikes, instead.
